Originally from the Gambia, Ebou Touray has been living in Brighton for many years. He organises the African Night Fever Dance night in which takes place on the last Friday of every month in the city.
'I am driven by two things - a desire to provide something for the local community and a passion for African music. I'm obsessed!
Ebou is particularly keen to create more performance opportunities for local African musicians who he believes don't get enough breaks in the city:
'The local venues do programme African music but not enough local musicians. They tend to bring in African musicians from across the world but all too frequently our local talent gets overlooked. We keep our event costs as low as possible to make it much more accessible to local people who can't afford the high ticket prices at some of the bigger venues'
